My story is important not because it is mine, God knows, but because if I tell it anything like right, the chances are you will recognize that in many ways it is also yours… it is precisely through these stories in all their particularity…that God makes himself known to each of us more powerfully and personally.
-Telling Secrets, Frederick Buechner
CPC’s Ties That Bind (TTB) audio recording ministry, which is patterned after NPR’s StoryCorps program, was approved by Session in the spring of 2016 as a means of addressing one of the top three priorities established by our congregation- to be more intentional in our effort to connect with one another, our own community and the world. One of the ways this can be accomplished is to record the stories of our lives as a means of honoring one another and God while also preserving our history and the human voice.
Every voice matters. Every person is important.
If you would like to interview a CPC member or someone in the community, or you feel someone would be a good candidate to be interviewed, please contact Caroline Derifaj or visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for more information. Occasionally, Ties That Bind may make a special request for interviews regarding a specific topic such as leaving home, service in the military, faith, milestones, mentors, etc.
