Interim Ministry at Cary Presbyterian

The interim period bridges the time and work between installed pastors.  In October 2017, following the ten-year tenure of Dr. Kyle Allen, the Session of Cary Presbyterian selected the Rev. Lori Pistor as Interim Pastor.  Lori had been a part of our church staff since February 2016, assisting with extended pastoral responsibilities, and brought significant experience in interim ministry.

Timeline for church transition

Interim Ministry Timeline_September 2018

In October 2017, a Transition Team of church members, appointed by the Session, began its work to guide the congregation through a time of discernment and healing that has included numerous small group discussions  and town hall sessions. Through these meetings, the congregation has provided feedback on ministries and priorities in the life of Cary Presbyterian Church.

More than 100 members responded to the Q&A posed by the Transition Team. Results were shared with the congregation on Sunday, August 26, 2018 and are posted in the resources section of this page for your review. Responses are organized by ministry area.

Members of CPC’s Transition Team include Donna Adkins, Jeanne Bolick, Beth Campbell, Jerry Luckie, Susan Mazarra (Presbytery Rep), Boyce Oglesby, John Page, and Rev. Lori Pistor.

Update: September 23, 2018
The New Hope Presbytery Committee on Ministry has provided approval for CPC to move forward with forming a PNC. The CPC Nominating Committee, as part of its responsibilities, is tasked with selecting the PNC.  Your prayerful consideration and nomination of CPC members for this very important role (PNC) are greatly appreciated.
